AAPL has presented its two annual awards that embody the organization’s commitment to improving health care by preparing industry leaders and influencers. The Leape Ahead Award and Roger Schenke Award were given during the CPE convocation celebration luncheon in the Boston Sheraton’s Grand Ballroom.
The Schenke Award goes Samuel Cullison, MD, ABFM, CPE, vice president of graduate medical education at Methodist Health System in Dallas. The Schenke goes to individuals whose education and training programs improve patient safety and enhance physician leadership.

The Leape Ahead Award goes to New York City Health & Hospitals/Lincoln for its focus on communication training as part of a collaborative effort with the New York State Department of Health to reduce readmissions.
