The American Association for Physician Leadership’s 2017 Fall Institute, filled with five days of education and networking activities, begins Friday in Scottsdale, Arizona.

More than 450 people are expected to attend the annual event at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, 6902 E. Greenway Parkway.

Live courses led by association faculty will focus on skills essential to physicians looking to build upon aspects of leadership or improve their acumen in new aspects of management. It's an opportunity for them to learn the latest in leadership and network with other physicians on similar paths.

“It’s important for us as the only organization dedicated to supporting and educating physician leaders to provide the platforms to not only develop and augment their leadership and management skills, but also to support them in gaining insights on how to manage the changes as leaders of their delivery systems,” says Peter Angood, MD, the president and CEO of the association.

Bonus sessions include: Planning for the Future: Core Issues and Strategies to Develop Your High-Performing Physician Enterprise; Physician Employment Strategies: Using Executive Style Benefits to Recruit, Retain and Reward; How to Energize Dormant Doctors; Advance Your Career/Taking Your Next Step; and Using Data to Drive Clinical Improvement.

In addition, leaders will gather to refocus their perspective and passion at the Beyond Burnout & Resilience program. The 2½-day symposium offers a solutions-based approach to personal, professional and organizational transformation.

If you are attending, please use our SMS registration platform. SMS updates will remind attendees about course locations and times, offer details about events and activities and provide instructions for claiming Continuing Medical Education credits.

Attendees should pick up their event badge at the Association Service Center at the Westin’s Culturekeepers Hall. There will be AAPL staff members there to answer questions.

Planning Ahead?

The Association is taking registrations for the Winter Institute scheduled for January 25-28, 2018 at The Reniassance Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

For over 45 years.

The American Association for Physician Leadership has helped physicians develop their leadership skills through education, career development, thought leadership and community building.

The American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL) changed its name from the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) in 2014. We may have changed our name, but we are the same organization that has been serving physician leaders since 1975.
